- Guidelines for Schools and Child Care Centres on Infectious Diseases and Other Childhood Health Issues This resource is intended to provide school principals, teachers, directors of childcare centres (CCCs) and health care professionals with guidelines on infectious disease prevention and control in schools and CCCs.
- Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) is an association of publicly funded Child and Youth Mental Health Centres in Ontario. The Centres provide treatment and support to children, youth and families. This includes targeted prevention, early intervention, short- and long-term counselling and therapy, and intensive services such as residential care.
- Ontario Telehealth is a free, confidential service you can call to get health advice or information. A Registered Nurse will take your call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Family Supports
- Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa (CASO) is a non-profit community organization, mandated to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect.
- First Words is Ottawa’s publically funded Preschool Speech and Language program which focuses on prevention, early identification and treatment of speech and language impairments.
- Children Integration Support Services (CISS) This bilingual service provides support to licensed child care programs (nursery schools, child care centres and home child care agencies) that promote the inclusion of children with special needs within the City of Ottawa.
- Crossroads Children Mental Health provides mental health services to families and children under the age of 12. They specialize in behavioral problems and mental health concerns such as aggression, impulsivity, poor social skills, anxiety, sadness, depression, fear, and suicidal thoughts. Services are responsive to cultural, racial and ethnic interests. They offer many programs with walk-in services and home-based appointments available. All services are free.

Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education (MOE) licenses Centres For Early Learning under the Child Care and Early Years Act. The Centre is required to meet all the regulations of this Act, including health and fire regulations dictated by the City of Ottawa, the Ontario Fire Marshal, and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
